my story

Chances are you are not stumbling upon this blog by googling cabbage and you know a little bit about me... but just in case this goes viral, let me take a minute to catch you up to speed.

Landenberg, Pennsylvania is where I grew up.  A small town about an hour southwest of Philadelphia and 10 minutes north of Newark, Delaware. There were no lines painted on our street and no cable TV (even still to this day!).

After graduating from Avon Grove High School in 2001, I was accepted at the University of Pittsburgh and spread my wings to the other side of the state. There I fell in love with the city and a boy named John who I met one night at a party during the last month of our freshmen year. Eight years later we got married. Yes, eight. I am very patient.

I am blessed with the most amazing family, the one I was born into and the one I became a part of long before John and I exchanged vows. My life journey has lead me to develop some awesome friendships along the way and kept them with me no matter how near or far the miles between us may be.

The center of our world is our dog Izzy. She brightens every day with the wag of her tail and I really can't imagine life without her. She's a puggle (pug+beagle = puggle) and she turned 5 this year.

OMG, isn't she so cute????

I am a wife, daughter, grand daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, dog-mom, friend, therapist, co-worker, pretend chef, wanna-be American Idol contestant, reality tv show junkie, tailgating lover, Pittsburgh sports fan, and IT project manager. Surprisingly the last is the only one I actually get paid for!
